ICT

Welcome to the ICT Department. Huntcliff School has invested heavily in ICT over the last 4 years to provide students and staff with access to ICT technology throughout the school. All students are given their own work area on the network, an email account and access to the Schools Virtual Learning Environment.

Curriculum

In KS3 students study ICT for 1 period each week. Lessons follow the KS3 National Curriculum, supporting students in becoming capable, confident and independent users of ICT. In year 7 the focus is on building skills and confidence. In year 8 and 9 students develop their ability to apply their knowledge in solving ICT problems becoming more efficient in their use of ICT and solving more complex problems.

In KS4 students are given 1 lesson per week dedicated to developing and improving their ICT skills. In this lesson they follow the OCR Level 2 Nationals in ICT course with the possibility of achieving a GCSE equivalent qualification.

Students taking ICT as an option subject receives a further 3 lessons each week. They produce ICT products such as websites, presentations and short movies.
