about the exams

Below there is some information about the structure of your examinations:

 

 

Paper 1 (40% of Total Marks) - 1hr30mins

This exam take the form of two distinct sections, section A and section B:

Section A – Geographical Skills – Is based on map work and you must answer ALL questions!

Section B – Physical GeographyYou must answer 3 questions from:

  1. Tectonic Activity

  2. Rocks and Landscapes

  3. River Landscapes

  4. Glacial Landscapes

You have to answer a total of 4 questions from these two sections.  You should allow approx 20 mins per question plus10 mins selection from section B and planning answers.

Because you are selecting from 5 PLEASE READ ALL PARTS OF ALL THE QUESTIONS before you decide which 3 to answer!

Paper 2 (35% of Total Marks) - 1hr30mins

This exam is just one section:

People and the Human Environment

In this exam you must answer a total of 3 questions from the following:

Either

  1. Population    or

  2. Settlements

Either

  1. Industry    or

  2. Agriculture

Either

  1. Development    or

  2. Managing Resources
