so how does departmental assessment work..?  

There are many different types of assessment within the department which is carried out on a regular basis. These take the form of:

KS3

1. Classwork

2. Homework

3. Project work

4. Module Test

5. Year Test

Students are graded on there classwork, homework and project work (for which they are also given a level) and are given a percentage for their tests.

GCSE
